Celebrated annually on April 22nd, Earth Day has supported environmental protection globally for over 50 years. This year’s theme, “Invest in Our Planet” presents the message that a green future is a prosperous future. On this Earth Day, we recognize that the fashion industry is intrinsically linked to natural ecosystems.
While farming is commonly associated with food production, the raw materials that form most apparel and accessories are also cultivated from plants or animals, such as cotton, leather, wool, cashmere, silk, and flax. Wide-scale adoption of regenerative agriculture practices across these supply chains can transform the fashion industry into an agent for positive change.
